directly : ad. 直接地,径直地, 直率地,马上
(1) directly作“直接地”解,不表示实际距离,常用于借喻。如:
This measure doesn't affect me directly. 这个措施对我没有直接影响。
(2) 下面两句意思不同:
We went direct to the station. 我们一直到车站。(含有“没先去其他地方或采取迂回的道路”的意思)
We went directly to the station. 我们立刻就到车站去了。(含有“没有拖延”的意思)
(3) directly在口语中起连接词作用,意为“一…就…”。如:
He made for the door directly he heard the knock. 一听到敲门声,他就跑去开门。
